Hello, I work with Generation Election PAC (GEPAC) a new organization dedicated to getting a new generation of progressive activists involved in politics while simultaneously electing progressive leaders to public office.

We have amassed a membership of close to 200 members in the twenty days that our website has been up.

But now we want to take another step forward.

The new organization Generation Election PAC is having a contest to predict the winners of some of the main categories of the Academy Awards.

The categories in the contest are:

Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress,

Best Supporting Actor/Actress, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Song.

After November 2, I was pissed at the world. I am seventeen years old and had put long hours working for a local candidate (who won), but my heartbreak was caused by the national election. I couldn't believe it. For a few weeks, I didn't do anything about it. But sometime in December I got an idea that would do more than vent my anger and frustration ... it was my hope that my new idea would actually make a difference, and help to insure that there would never be another day like November 2, 2004 again.
The idea, though I didn't have the name at the timem, was the Generation Election Political Action Committee. Right now, myself, along with former Daily Kos poster and political expert Stephen Yellin (MrLiberal of dKos fame), are formulating an exciting plan to get Generation Election up and running in the next few weeeks,in time to make a difference in the states, like New Jersey and Virginia, that have elections in November 2005.

You are no doubt wondering what Generation Election (called GEPAC) is. This is our Mission Statement:
